One of the most powerful images of Beirut post civil war. The shot up statue, the funeral tent for Rafik Harari, and the mosque... all in one shot. The statue was used more or less as target practice by the warring milities during the civil war...

I'm fascinated by what fills the skies... in San Diego, it was often blue sky. The beauty of the symmetry of man's most common work is nicely counter-balanced by how ugly and utilitarian it is.

I pulled the lat/long from GoogleEarth. Unfortunately GE and Picasa and Hello have not combined their tools yet ... I keep hoping that the devs will hear my plea for a combination of GoogleEarth and Picasa and Hello!
